Within walking distance of Bronte Cottage, the atmospheric Oakwell Hall was much visited by Charlotte Bronte and featured as "FieldHead" in the Novel "Shirley" . More recently Oakwell Hall featured significantly in ITV's interpretation of Emily Brontes novel, 'Wuthering Heights'.
